WENGER RESPECTS VALDY'S DECLARATION TO SNUB ARSENAL

The Gunners had triggered the striker's £20 million release clause, but the England international has now accepted a four-year contract with the Premier League champions.

Arsene Wenger insists he values Jamie Vardy’s choice to decline Arsenal in favour of opting for Leicester City.
The Gunners had triggered the striker’s £20 million release clause, but the England international held up on his final decision before Leicester finalized on Thursday that a fresh four-year contract had been agreed upon.
"I believe Leicester have pulled in an announcement, and Vardy will stay. We were on the case and keen, but not more than that," said the Arsenal manager.
"He has agreed to stay at Leicester and all the best to him.
"He arrived late to the game and in fairness Leicester acquired him from Fleetwood, and he has been prosperous.
